We’ve done it! We’ve been shortlisted as a finalist in the Major Loss Category at the British Claims Awards after our exemplary, sensitive and highly positive handling of a particularly demanding cohort of cases.

Following a major incident, it’s vital that those affected are given access to immediate appropriate support from specialist Rehabilitation Case Managers. In the aftermath of an incident, one of the key deliverables for our service is to provide easily accessible rehabilitation to all eligible parties.

For one such incident, this included immediate access to psychological support, face-to-face INAs, trauma and bereavement screenings, direct liaison with the NHS Psychological Services team, direct liaison with social workers, and the production of individual, bespoke rehabilitation programmes for each individual.

Our team continues to deliver a hugely positive impact on all of those affected. On the ground, our team play an instrumental role in the recovery process of those affected, going above and beyond to help them through outcome focussed, managed rehabilitation programmes. We can proudly say that this unique approach results in a truly first class, unrivalled service delivered in difficult and challenging circumstances.

Much of the success in appropriate response to major incidents, or incidents in the large loss space, is in the planning phase. It’s essential to have the supportive infrastructure and defined processes in place to activate this response so that vital time isn’t lost when an event occurs and injured parties can benefit from early intervention. Appropriate training is also important and we ensure that our response team is trained and experienced working with those affected by trauma.

As a major incident rehabilitation provider, we ensure that immediate support is available. Rehabilitation Case Managers are on hand to help in normalising feelings of trauma and provide anxiety management exercises, while trauma trained clinicians are deployed to assess rehabilitation needs and provide treatment.

In order to reach and help as many of those involved as possible, human engagement is a priority. As such we tailored our approach to maximise this, offering flexibility with appointment times and the locations that injured parties can be assessed or receive treatment.

We also worked hard to balance therapeutic integrity with personalisation, developing relationships with each individual based on trust and respect. The one-to-one relationships we develop have led to what was described in an independent report as engagement of a ‘notably high level’ with only a 6% DNA rate for psychological rehabilitation sessions for one high profile major loss event.

Despite often operating within challenging circumstances, independent assessment of our rehabilitative services delivered by us to date state that the evidence that exists is ‘rich and positive’ with ‘very significant improvements’ evident with one insurer commenting that, “Corporé’s expertise and dedication helped us to deliver the very best rehabilitation support, which enabled us to go above and beyond.”
