Absence Case Management for Insurers

More than supporting employees who are already unwell

It’s important for employers to understand the health issues employees face and to take responsibility for supporting them when they’re taken ill at work.

This understanding and responsibility is why they’ve turned to you as an Insurer to put a plan in place when unexpected illnesses and injuries occur. By choosing our case management approach to help rehabilitate and support employees returning to work, we provide so much more than clinical help when someone becomes unwell.

Our proactive absence case management approach provides a range of services that offer employees the right clinical support and guidance that they need to return to work as soon as possible.

But prevention is better – and more cost-effective – than a cure, so we also support the prevention of absences at work by providing wellbeing and vocational advice to maintain health in the workplace and help manage any new or existing conditions so that employees are able to continue working.

This approach provides the training employers need to get a better understanding of their employees’ physical and mental health, while promoting a positive and more supportive work environment to encourage dedication from employees. This environment encourages a return to optimum function and work as soon as possible, reducing the complications and overreaching costs that could unravel in an unsupported claim.

How it works
  • A dedicated, experienced Case Manager is assigned.
  • Workplace assessments are carried out to assess potential risks.
  • We intervene early with affordable treatments.
  • If requested, vocational and wellbeing advice and training is provided to employers to help promote a positive work environment, reducing the risk of absences occurring.
  • The risk of potentially costly intervention is reduced.
  • Regular progress tracking keeps everyone informed.
  • We come back to you with clear, understandable reports.
What it's suitable for

Absence case management is suitable for any Insurer looking to mitigate risk. By assessing conditions at a policyholder’s workplace, identifying potential issues, and intervening before they develop, we’re able to lower risk and reduce your expenses. All while increasing the wellbeing and quality of life of the workforce.

Key benefits
  • Professional – you work with experienced, dedicated case managers who understand risk.
  • Flexible – we tailor the levels of our interventions to meet your needs, without over- or underservicing.
  • Responsive – we partner with Insurers, responding quickly to potential issues and requests.
  • Cost-effective –  it’s far less costly for Insurers to prevent a claim than to settle one.

Charlotte Bolton

Rehabilitation Case Manager

Charlotte first gained rehabilitation experience when studying as a Sports Therapist at university. In this time, she supported many different football teams, ranging from amateur to semi-professional, providing basic maintenance for players on and off the pitch, whilst also offering first-aid assistance pitch-side. This led her to provide sports rehabilitation to professional football team, Bolton Wanderers, assisting players following their injuries from post-op through to return to play and also offering soft tissue support and sports massage. Whilst Charlotte continues to provide sports rehabilitation as a volunteer at an amateur football club, her work now focuses on assessments, planning, providing appropriate treatments, exercise prescription and strengthening rehabilitation for a range of musculoskeletal pathologies from point of injury to returning to work or function, whilst also helping long-term clients with maintenance.
